Battle Recreations:

Friday, April 8, 2005:

9:00 a.m. - Gates open-school children's program

On Friday, April 8, 2005; school children will be allowed to step back in history and experience life during the civil war era. They will have the opportunity to experience soldier life such as recruitment, marching drills, inspections, learn about weapons and the gear civil war soldier's carried. They will also be able to see a confederate surgeon, an undertaker, the Christian Commission, visit in sutler's row and shop, see variou civil war exhibits as well as visit and speak with various Generals who where at Appomattox during the final days.

6:00 p.m. - The Battle of Cumberland Church will be enacted and is open to the general public. Admission is free and will be at Spectator Viewing/Site 2.

Saturday, April 9, 2005:

On Sunday spectators will be allowed into the military camps to view how the soldiers lived, witness military demonstrations, listen to period music concerts, visit sutler's row, chaplain's headquarters, visit various Generals camps and headquarters, see a fashion show, view various civil war exhibits, demonstrations and hear various special guest speakers. Then at 2:00 Cessions of Hostilities -Stacking of Arms will commence at
Site 2.

All events and battles to be held at the counties Appomattox Center/Industrial Park which is located on Route 26, Appomattox, VA. Not at Appomattox Court House National Park.
