POLICE/FIRE/RESCUE:

There are 14 field deputies patrolling the county.  They also serve the towns of Appomattox and Pamplin. In addition, the Appomattox County Sheriff’s Department is assisted by the Virginia State Police. There are 5 State Police troopers, and 2 State Police Sergeants that patrol the county. Fire protection is provided by a volunteer staff of 24 in Appomattox and 25 in Pamplin. The Appomattox County Rescue Squad has 30 members. The Concord Volunteer Fire Department and the Concord Rescue Squad also service a portion of Appomattox County.
