Holliday Lake State Park and James River State Park have marked trails.
About one hour's drive to the mountains will bring you to Devil's Marble Yard (area of Big Island).
Crabtree Falls (in Nelson County).
The Peaks of Otter and the Blue Ridge Parkway in Bedford County. 2) Fishing & Camping: We have some of the best fishing and camping right here in Appomattox County.
James River: Need a canoe? You can rent one at the canoe livery in Bent Creek.
James River State Park which is loaded with fun places to explore.
Holliday Lake State Park which has a nice swimming area with life guards. You can also rent boats and do some
fishing at the park.
Paradise Lake: Has a swimming and camping area. 3) Recreational Sports: There is softball, baseball, soccer, and swimming, for all ages. Check with the County
Recreational Center, your local church, or the Appomattox Youth League to sign up. The community center also has
